Mrs. Esther Lakey Atkins, 93, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, at Moses Cone Extended Care Center.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, at Grace Baptist Church, of which she was a member. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.Mrs. Atkins was preceded in death by her husband, Friel Atkins Sr.; daughter, Margaret Louise Clayton; and four grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Friel Atkins Jr., Dot Lohr and husband, Jack, Jack Atkins and wife, Eleanor, Bobby Atkins and wife, Mary, all of Greensboro, George Atkins of Asheboro and Larry Atkins and wife, Brenda of Greensboro; 31 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel.
