Minnie Vernice Rose age 91 of Edina, Missouri passed away Thursday night, March 29, 2001 at the Knox County Nursing Home at Edina.
Born June 6, 1909 in Green Castle, Missouri she was a daughter of William and Myrtle Strait Garrett. One March 1, 1936 in Edina, Missouri she was united in marriage to Joseph Rose who preceded her in death in May of 1988.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Clarence "Bill" Garrett and two sisters, Rita Watkins and one in infancy.
Surviving are one daughter, Nancy Smith and husband, Lee of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; one granddaughter, Christy Groves and husband, Ronald of Anderson, Indiana; one great-grandson, Jesse Groves and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Rose was a life long resident of Edina where she attended school and was a graduate of the Edina High School. She was employed as a telephone operator at the Edina Telephone Office for a number of years. She was an active member of the Edina First United Methodist Church, the local P.E.O. Chapter and various other women's organizations of Edina. Minnie was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, reading and visiting with famijy and friends.
