Son of John Peterman and Barbara Eckert, married Mary Ann Magdalena Cornman, February 23, 1832, Carlisle, Cumberland Co., PA

December 16, 1802, Jacob Peterman was born, York Co., PA. After death of his grandmother in 1810, the family moved to Cumberland County near Carlisle, PA where they farmed until October 1827 when they moved to Crawford Co., OH. March 13, 1828, Crawford Co., OH land patent, 160 acres
Father, John Peterman, of Ohio, purchased from the government 80 acres

February 23, 1832, Jacob married Mary Ann Magdalena Cornman, Carlisle, Cumberland Co., PA. September 3, 1854 the family traveled by Ox team from Ohio to Taylor Co., IA, having been on the road forty-eight days. He purchased 40 acres Taylor Co., IA near Hawleyville. Times were difficult. By 1861, son William Parker Perman and son-in-laws Patrick Devlin, James McGlency were fighting in the Civil War.

August 08, 1865 wife Mary Ann Magdalena Cornman Peterman died Taylor Co., IA, soon after her death daughter Amanda Catherine Peterman left the home of her father to get married, and was not heard from again.

Youngest sons, John and Jacob Manuel Peterman helped run the farm in East River Twp., Page Co., IA until Jacobs death Sep 17, 1876.
