She is remembered for her keen wit and humor, and for the never-ending supply of jokes and good humor - despite health issues - a characteristic which never ceased to amaze and inspire those who knew and loved her so much. She was an unabashed liberal in a sea of Republicans, but never made an issue of it. She endeared herself to all by being considerably more likely to poke fun at herself than at anyone else. She was truly a treasure. A remarkable woman who will be greatly missed.

The funeral service will be Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Rev. Tim Butler officiating and Jenna McKinley officiating. She was a retired school teacher.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Wade, Russell Springs, KY, and the following:
Three children: Jean Ann (Andy) Wade, Russell Springs, KY; William R. (Linda) Wade, Pensacola, FL; and Charla (Jon) Williams, Cincinnati, OH
Six grandchildren: Charles "Bud" McKinley, Corey Smith, Clay Williams, Keith Jordan Williams, Khaki Wade, and Hattie Wade
One great grandchild: Emma Kay McKinley
One nephew: Bob O'Daniel, Alabama
She was preceded in death by one son, Benjamin Wade; one sister, Charlene Hathorn, and one brother, Elba O'Daniel.
