Roger was born on December 2, 1943 to Frances Ruth and William R. Nance Sr. He graduated from Miller High School in 1962. He served in the Army from 1963 to 1965, as paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne infantry division. Roger was employed by Koch Refinery and retired, after more than 30 years of employment. He enjoyed long distance cycling. He will always be remembered for his love of laughter, quiet nature, sense of adventure, service in the community, devotion to family and sense of humor. He was a loving father, son, brother, and grandfather.
Roger is preceded in death by his wife Sherry Lynn Nance, parents: Frances Ruth and William R. Nance Sr.
Roger is survived by son William R. Nance III 'Trey' and wife Connie, and one granddaughter, Emily all of Woodsboro, Texas. Brother, Ronnie Nance and wife Brenda of Corpus Christi, Texas, sister, Darlene Bruns and husband Louis Henry of Luling and one niece, Heather Nance of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2012, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at Seaside Funeral Home on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 2:00 P.M.
