Otto Schwanke, 79, of Rt. 3, Manitowoc, died Wednesday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. The Rev. Carl Peters will officiate and burial will be in Grace Lutheran Cemetery.

Mr. Schwanke was born Apr. 16, 1894, in the Town of Rantoul, son of the late William and Ella Johnston Schwanke. He attended school at Potter. He married Wilhelmina Bleck Nov. 18, 1920, at Valders. He was a farmer all his life. His wife preceded him in death. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie and American Legion Post of Valders.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Edna Schwanke, of Rt. 3, Manitowoc, a sister, Mrs. Lillian Wenzel, of Brillion and two grandchildren. A son and two brothers preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders, after 6 p.m. Friday until 11 a.m. Saturday and from noon at the church until the time of service. American Legion services will be at 8 p.m. Friday.
