Henry W. Welty, 84, 706 E. 13th St., died Friday in Ball Hospital. He had come to Muncie in March 1968 to make his home here with his son, Paul Welty. He was a retired painter from Kenton, Ohio.

Surviving besides the son are a daughter, Mrs. Betty Hansard, Muncie; another son, Robert, Kenton, and another daughter, Mrs. Harriette Newell, Marion, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Parson Mortuary from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Services will be there at 3 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Elm Ridge Cemetery.
