"Florence Eleanor (nee Schofield) Yockey, age 85, of Highland, Illinois, died Sunday, December 4, 2005, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, Illinois. She was born September 6, 1920, in Clay City, Illinois, the daughter of William and Ida (Tipton) Schofield. On March 28, 2000, she married Eugene R. Yockey, who died March 28, 2000. She was born in Clay County in Southern, Illinois where she grew up and graduated from Clay City High School, Class of 1940. She worked at Brown Shoe Company in Flora, Illinois. She lived in California while her husband was in the service, and she worked in an aircraft factory. They later moved to Texas and then to Greenville in the 1950's. There she worked for DeMoukin Brothers. After her first husband died she moved to Pocahontas then to Highland in 1966 and worked St. Joseph Hospital for 15 years and then retired. She enjoyed gardening, her grandchildren, and being one of the 'Hardee Girls.' She was a member of White Shrine of Jerusalem #104-Highland; Order of Eastern Star Pocahontas, Illinois; and Royal Neighbors of America Camp #1957. Survivors include a son William H. 'Bill' (Jan) Martin of Palmdale, California, daughter Shirley Y. (George) B. Shaw of Greenville, Illinois, daughter Brenda C. (Larry) Diveley of Highland, Illinois, grandchildren George Mark (Christine) Shaw of Greenville, Illinois, Petty Officer Kevin L. (Kathryn) Martin, USN of Jacksonville, Florida, Sean (Jill) Martin of Sarasota, Fla., Shane Martin of Palmdale, Calif., Valerie M. Walter of Pocahontas, Ill., Larry W. Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, December 9, 2005, and from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, December 10, 2005, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Illinois. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 10, 2005, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Illinois, with Rev. Dave Trover, Pastor of the United Methodist Church in Pocahontas, Illinois, officiating. Interment will be at Greene Cemetery in Greenville, Illinois. She was a member of White Shrine of Jerusalem #104 in Highland, Order of Eastern Star Pocahontas, Illinois and royal Neighbors of America. She graduated from Clay City High School class of 1940, and worked at Brown Shoe Company in Flora. She lived in California while her husband was in the service, and worked in an aircraft factory. They later moved to Texas and then to Greenville in the 1950's. There she worked for DeMoukin Brothers. After her first husband died, she moved to Pochontas then to Highland in 1966, and worked at St. Joseph Hospital for 15 years and retired.
