She was born July 26, 1935 in Jamestown, TN, to George and Mary Bell (Malone) Perry. Nellie attended school in Tennessee. She worked on the assembly line for General Motors, retiring in 1994. Nellie was a member of Old Fashion United Baptist Church, United Auto Workers Union Local #499, Delco Battery and Avondale Sympathy Club.
Nellie was survived by one step-son, Timothy F. Prevost, North Carolina; one step-daughter, Kathy Davis, Indiana; one sister, Amanda Hicks, Jamestown, TN; granddaughter, Ericka Skyles (husband-Roho), Pikeville, TN; and five other grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phillip L. Prevost in 1999; son, Danny Taylor; two sisters, Estlean Barker and Edith Peavyhouse.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2012 at Parson Mortuary with Pastor Terry Dobbs officiating. Entombment to follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the mortuary.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420.
