Heyl Sr., Daniel Benjamin February 11, 1924 - January 14, 2012 Daniel Benjamin Heyl, Sr., born in Ajo, AZ February 11, 1924 to Richard and Aurora Heyl, passed away at 87 years old on January 14 in Sherman Oaks, California. Dan is survived by three sisters, two daughters, two sons Daniel Jr., 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Daniel is remembered for his time in the military as a part of the Special Forces unit during WW2. He worked and retired from Pioneer French Bakery in Venice, California and had a passion for boxing and sky diving. A life-long fitness fanatic, he is remembered for his bald head, which he had long before it became a fashion. Though he leaves us now we know he is joining his beloved wife of 64 years Shirley, daughters Cheryl and Nancy, brother Herman and sister Martha. Services will be held on January 26, 2012, at Holy Cross Cemetery in the large chapel within the Mausoleum at 11:30, with a reception following the service.
