Roman Catholic Saint. She was born to christian parents in Chalcedon. During the era of Diocletian she was persecuted for her beliefs. Euphemia was killed around the age of 18 in 304 AD. Her remains ended up in Rovinj where she is the Patroness. The town has a festival on September 16th and many come from all over to honor her.
