He retired in 1974 after 43 years of teaching so he could spend time on his many hobby's: wood working, photography, electronics, leather work, and his favorite being fishing.
Surviving are R.... (J...) Schmidt of ........, WI and two grandsons R... and E... Schmidt; a brother Alfred (Gwen) Schmidt of Manitowoc, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Clarks Mills, WI.
