Alvin W. Schmidt

Alvin W. Schmidt died in Manitowoc, Manitowoc, WI in 1998. He was the son of William C. & Ella (Duchow) Schmidt and was born in Menasha, Winnebago County, WI on 23 Oct 1908. He was married to Luella F. Mullins Aug 16, 1941 in Clarks Mills, Manitowoc, WI. Luella proceeded him in death Nov. 21, 1995. He was a graduate of Valders H.S., University of Wisconsin, Platteville, WI and University of Illinois, Champaign, IL.

He taught agriculture, industrial arts, music, math and chemistry, as well as coaching basketball, baseball and was a band director. He taught at Tigerton H.S., Tigerton, WI.; Morrisonville Community H.S., Morrisonville, IL and Heborn H.S., Hebron, IL. He retired in 1974 after 43 years of teaching so he could spend time on his many hobby's: wood working, photography, electronics, leather work, and his favorite being fishing.

Surviving are R.... (J...) Schmidt of ........, WI and two grandsons R... and E... Schmidt; a brother Alfred (Gwen) Schmidt of Manitowoc, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Clarks Mills, WI.
