Husband of Velma Sutherland, father of Stephen and Velma (Dolly). He was a tank commander in WW II securing a enemy division single handed. Howard's mother, Johannah Drinkhorn Sanday Hart, received the purple heart on behalf of her son when he was wounded. He was with the Fifth Army in Italy. Howard had studied agriculture and was employed at the Walter K Hough Fruit Orchards in the experimental department prior to entering the Army in 1942. Howard retired from General Motors. He is cremated and spread around his yard at his home in Oxford, Michigan.
