Timothy Lyle Knapp, 47, of Columbus, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at his residence. He was born January 13, 1965, in Charleston, S.C., the youngest of child of James and Janet E. Furniss Knapp, who survives, of Virginia Beach, VA. Also surviving are his life partner, Damon Dalrymple of Columbus; sisters, Valerie (Gary) Paschang and Stacey (Craig) Wills, both of Virginia Beach, VA; brothers, James (Shelley) Knapp of Suffolk, VA and Chris (Kim) Knapp of Newcastle, CA; nephews, Josh and Seth Knapp; and nieces, Samantha Paschang and Olivia Will; many special friends; and his beloved pets, Lucky and Max. He was predeceased by grandparents Charles and Ernestine Knapp and Lyle and Ruth Trego. He lived in Virginia Beach, VA from 1975 until he graduated from Green Run High School in 1983. After graduation he developed a true love of the beach and shell hunting. He was a 1988 graduate of Ohio University with a bachelor of science in health and human services with a major in hearing and speech. He worked for the Franklin County Board of MRDD for 17 years; he loved the people at ARC East. For the past 2 years he focused on his art expertise through opening the Lyle Gallery that dealt in regional, national and international art and artists. His talents were many including personal exquisite gardens and community gardening; cooking and baking; writing poetry; singing; home restoration; personal entertaining and philanthropy. He shared a special love of baseball with his partner. He was the kindest, gentlest soul you would ever want to meet. He will be sorely missed by all. Your soul is free, rest in peace Tim.
