At 5'06", and 150lbs, Brophy played for the Quebec Crescents from 1914 to 1916, 1919 to 1920, Quebec St. Pats from 1916 to 1917, Montreal St. Ann's from 1917 to 1918, Montreal Westmount from 1917 to 1918, Montreal Vickers from 1918 to 1919, Quebec Bulldogs from 1919 to 1920, and the Quebec Telegraph from 1920 to 1921. He was a member of the MCHL First All-Star Team in 1918 and 1919.
