Verbenia Matlock Smith
BROWNWOOD -- Verbenia Matlock Smith, 92, of Round Rock and formerly of Brownwood, died Thursday in Taylor.
Services were held Saturday in Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Yost officiating. Burial was in Greenleaf Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born in Hunt County and was a homemaker. She moved to Round Rock in 1986. She was a member of Austin Avenue Church of Christ and was the widow of Denny William Conner.
Survivors include one son, Jerry D. Conner of Round Rock; one daughter, Christine Briscoe of Detroit, Texas; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Gravesite Details
Although she was a widow to A Mr. Smith at the time of her death, she wished to be buried next to her 2nd husband Matlock and buried with that name on her marker.
