Richard went to Trinity High School in Louisville Kentucky, where he lived with his parents. Richard was murdered along with his friend Scott Nelson after becoming lost in Louisville while looking for a high school that had a sports game going on that night that was competing with his high school team. Two men kidnapped them and killed them in order to rob them.
