Mario J. Manfredini, 89, passed away August 3, 2011 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born August 7, 1921 in W. Frankfurt, Illinois to the late Eugene and Anna (Deiro) Manfield.

Mario retired from the U.S. Air Force in July 1965. He was a decorated Prisoner of War during World War II, receiving the Purple Heart. He held memberships in the Retired Enlisted Association, VFW and DAV. After his retirement he was employed as a Bowling Lanes manager with Celebrity Sports Center in Denver from 1965 -1971; and at Peterson Air Force Base from 1971-1985. His interests included bowling, traveling and gambling.

Mario is survived by his daughters, Roberta (John) Manfredini; Dianne (Ken) Manfredini; son , Wayne Leake; sister, Josephine Smith; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Manfredini and two sisters, Frances Miller and Yolanda Mercurio.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Swan Law Funeral Directors. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Swan Law Cascade Chapel, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Private burial will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado where he will be placed with his wife.
