Thomas Currier served the town of Amesbury in almost every capacity. He succeeded his father as town clerk December 14 1674 and transcribed the records in a neat hand until his death, a period of nearly thirty eight years. He was a selectman seventeen years and held many other local offices and was also an employee in settling estates and various other matters. He was a witness in the will of Edmund Eliot which his father wrote in 1675 and occasionally recorded meetings when his father and clerk. He probably lived near the mills and perhaps in the vicinity of the Lion's mouth.
