A native of Seaforth, Ontario, Mason played for the Saskatoon Crescents from 1932 to 1933, Vancouver Lions from 1933 to 1934, New York Rangers from 1934 to 1936, Philadelphia Ramblers from 1935 to 1938, Pittsburgh Hornets from 1938 to 1939, Detroit Red Wings from 1938 to 1939, Chicago Blackhawks from 1938 to 1939, Cleveland Barons from 1939 to 1940, Buffalo-Springfield from 1940 to 1941, and Providence-Philadelphia from 1941 to 1942.
