Harry E. BALL, 97, 418 West Seventh street, died at 11:30 p.m. Thursday in Woodlawn hospital where he had been a patient since Sept. 12. He had been ill five years. Born Dec. 18, 1871, in Logansport, he was the son of Lafayette and Mary DeMOSS BALL. His marriage was Nov. 23, 1921, in North Dakota, to Bertha M. DIXON, who survives. A retired farmer, Mr. Ball had resided here 16 years, moving from Kewanna. He was a member of the Bethel United Methodist church in Cass county. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Clyde (Blanche) TOWNE, Jr., R.R. 2, Rochester; three grandchildren, Melody, Harry Clyde, and Stephen TOWNE, all of R.R. 2, Rochester, and numerous nieces and nephews. One son preceded in death. Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Foster & Good funeral home. The Rev. Laurence I. SMITH will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Kewanna. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday. The family has requested that memorials other than flowers be made to the Cancer and Heart Fund.
