Princess. Maria Carolina Augusta of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, daughter of Leopold of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Prince of Salerno, and his wife Archduchess Maria Clementina of Austria, was born in Vienna. Her mother was the daughter of Francis II, Holy Roman Emperor. Maria Carolina married Henri d'Orléans, Duke of Aumale, the son of Louis Philippe, the King of the French, and his wife Queen Maria Amalia, on November 25, 1844 in Naples. The marriage produced four children, two of whom survived to adulthood. Maria Carolina died from tuberculosis in 1869 while in exile at Twickenham, England. The Duchess of Aumale was interred initially at the Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo in Weybridge, England. In 1876, her remains were transferred to the Chapelle Royale de Dreux.
