Born Nov. 21, 1930, in Streator, he was the son of Joseph and Norma (Scott) Eccleston. He married Mary Ann Elko on Dec. 27, 1952, at St. Stephen's Church in Streator. She survives in East Peoria.
He is also survived by a daughter, Cheryl (Will) McDonald of Greensboro, N.C.; sons Craig Eccleston of Peoria and Terry (Margaret) Eccleston of Palm Harbor, Fla.; grandchildren Roger, Kayla, Alex and Zach Perkins and Kevin Eccleston; and sisters Carol (Steve) Biroschik of Streator and Susie Evans of Streator.
He was preceded in death by his grandchildren Bryan Tate and Candice Eccleston and by a brother, James Eccleston.
Born and raised in Streator, he attended Streator schools and graduated from Streator High School, Class of 1948. He moved to East Peoria in 1965.
He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed for a time at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.
He worked for Anthony Company in Streator. He later worked for International Transport Trucking Company.
Bob and his wife were members of St. Monica Catholic Church in East Peoria. He was also a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Through the years, Bob was an avid bowler and fisherman.
He will be dearly missed by his family.
Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Streator.
