Princess. Victoria Franziska Antonia Juliane Luise, daughter of Prince Ferdinand of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and his wife Maria Antonia Koháry de Csábrág, was born in Vienna. Her brother was King Ferdinand II of Portugal. Her first cousins included Queen Victoria of England and her husband Prince Albert. On April 27, 1840, the princess married Louis d'Orléans, Duke of Nemours, at the Château de Saint-Cloud. They had four children, all of whom survived to adulthood. The family moved to Claremont in Surrey, England at the onset of the French Revolution of 1848. Victoria died there in 1857, two months after giving birth to their fourth child. She was interred at the Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo in Weybridge. In 1979, her remains were transferred to the Chapelle Royale de Dreux.
