Character actor. Best known for his appearances in several Three Stooges shorts, most notably as the hot-tempered drill sergeant in "Boobs In Arms." He was killed while fighting in World War II, having reached the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. He posthumously received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and other honors. (bio by: T W Zimmerman)

What a long journey you made, from Shelton to Hollywood and then Normandy. I saw the field where you died. There is nothing now greater than memory.
