Emilie is the daughter of August and Emilie (Giesler) Riemer. She was born in Magdeburg Germany.

She immigrated to the United States at the age of 10 on August 15, 1867 with her mother and 2 brothers, August and Gustav.

Emilie married Charles Alfred Eschmann about 1876. Their known children are: Emilie, Bertha, Hilda, Charles, Elsie, Elmer, and Herbert. Their children were all born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.

Charles & Emilie moved to California before 1930. They were living in Beverly Hills in 1930. Charles died in North Hollywood in 1932.
