Marion Haswell Ludden, lifelong resident of Wisconsin, who lived the past several years at Attic Angels Tower and Nursing Home, died early Monday morning, August 10, 1987. She was a native of Windsor, Dane County, WI. She joined the Windsor Church on November 9, 1913 and was especially remembered for her contribution there as pianist and accompanist. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison in 1924 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. She was married on December 30, 1926 to Dr. Raymond H. Ludden. The Ludden's made their home in Viroqua, WI from 1928 to 1946, where Mrs. Ludden was interested in the home arts by involving herself in community service and in teaching. They moved to Madison in 1946. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church, Homemakers Club, Dane County Medical Auxiliary, American Association of University Women, Who's New, Past Matrons and White Shrine. Mrs. Ludden was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond in 1967. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Martha L. Hatleberg of Bethesda, MD and Mrs. Ruth L. Bates of Martinez, CA; a brother, Clement D. Haswell of Madison; 8 grandchildren, Dr. Steven L. Hatleberg of Carlisle, PA, Andrew L. Hatleberg of Bethesda, MD, Eric W. Hatleberg of Scott, LA, John N. Hatleberg of Bethesda, Amy S. Hatleberg of Boston, MA, Irene A. Bates of San Bruno, CA, Beverly J. Bates of Castro Valley, CA, Dorothy J. Bates of Oakland, CA; and 8 great-grandchildren; a family of which she was most proud. Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery. There will be a memorial service to be announced at a later date.
