Visitation will be Sunday, February 26, 2012, at Hixson Brothers, Pineville, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Gavin, 13, of Pineville, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012, at Children's Hospital, New Orleans, Louisiana, after losing his battle with leukemia.
He was a member of Word of Grace Church and was active in the Youth Group. Gavin loved his Lord and testified daily to uplift those that he came in contact with. Gavin was a student at Pineville Jr. High School and a member of the Red River Youth Football League. He was a star on the football field as well as off and had a tremendous sense of humor. Gavin was an inspiration to many and will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Walter Leon Pennington, Sr. and paternal grandmother, Judy Carolyn Reeves.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Chandra Pennington and Adam Culpepper; brother, Dionte Pennington; sisters, Bailey Denise Culpepper and Tatiana Pennington; grandmothers, Judy Pennington, and Betty Procell; paternal great grandmother, Jewel Reeves. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.
A special thanks to the wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff of Children's Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana, and to Patrick F. Taylor of Hope Lodge in New Orleans.
