Elinor Hedger born January 26, 1900 in Adams County, Iowa to Ralph Alonzo Hedger and Mary Elizabeth Barker. Died July 14, 1911 in Golden Valley, Mercer County, North Dakota
Adams County Union-Republican
I write to inform you of the sad death of little Elinor Hedger, oldest child and only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hedger, formerly of Corning. Mrs. Hedger will be remembered as Lizzie Barker. Elinor was a bright, promising child, modest, and winsome. She has many friends in Corning who will be grieved to hear of her death. She was sick but a short time, but she suffered intensely. She gave testimony of the better world as her hope. She died July 14, 1911. She was 11 years, 5 months, 18 days old. She leaves her father, mother, and five brothers to mourn her loss, beside a host of relatives both here and in Corning. These worthy people have the sympathy of all.

The bad news has just been received from Golden Valley, North Dakota, of the death of the only girl of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hedger. Elinor was eleven years old and was a sweet lovable child, being a little mother to the younger children. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Hedger was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Barker and was a woman loved by all who knew her and knows to whom to go for help having early given her heart to God. They have the sympathy of all the friend and neighbors of the community.

Relatives received word the first of the week of the death of Elinor Hedger, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hedger, residing at Golden Valley, North Dakota, which occurred Thursday, July 13, 1911. The funeral occurred the following day at the home. The little girl had been ailing for sometime, but took suddenly worse the evening of the fourth, with typhoid fever, later appendicitis developing. Helen Elinor Hedger was born January 26, 1900 in Adams County, and was 11 years, 5 months, and 17 days old. She was the only daughter, their being five boys in the family. The family left this county in March 1909 for Golden Valley where they now reside. Mr. Hedger is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Barker, former Adams County people, but now residing at Golden Valley.
