William married Margaret J. Williams June 19, 1859 in Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. He fought in the Civil War. Per a descendent, after the war he worked for ship builders as a mechanic. He was asked to accompany a ship on it's maiden voyage but the ship disappeared and was never heard of again. It is thus assumed that he died at sea between 1870 and 1880.
Additional information from a family member is that the ship builder (Pusey and Jones) reported no lost ships - so what really happened to William is unknown. He was report3edly a favorite of the "king of Brazil" so perhaps he went to Brazil with a ship and never returned.
