US Congressman. Born in Danville, Ohio, he graduated from the Ohio Wesleyan University, in June 1868, studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1871 and commenced opened a law practice in Dayton, Ohio. He was prosecuting attorney of Montgomery County, (1887-90), counsel for the New York Central Railroad (1882-1912) and delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1892. In 1901, he was elected as a Republican to the Fifty-seventh, Fifty-eighth, and Fifty-ninth Congresses, serving until 1907. He declined a re-nomination and resumed the practice of law, until his death at age 62 in Dayton, Ohio.
