Robert Hill, 84, whose family originally settled in Hill City, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Meryl Morrison, Ten Mile Bottom, at 1:40 AM today, after an illness of several years. He was born at Hill City Aug. 12, 1866, son of William and Mary Jane Maxwell Hill.
He lived in Hill City all his life until 12 years ago when he went to make his home with his daughter in Ten Mile Bottom. Until his retirement, he was in the farming and teaming trade.
He married Ida Belle Ferguson of Shippenville, who died 43 years ago.
Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Morrison; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Farren of Van; a son, Jay D. Hill of Paris, AR; four grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Clark of Oil City, and Mrs. Sophia Eich and Mrs. Florence Heasley, both of Franklin.
