George W. Anderson in his 68th year, died at his home in Pinoak, a short distance south of Oil City, Thursday morning, August 13th. He had been ailing since last December but his condition was not considered critical. Thursday morning when his daughter went to his room he was breathing heavily and there were other conditions that alarmed her. She called the family physician, Dr. Hadley, but the patient was dead before he could reach the home. Heart disease is ascribed. The deceased was born at old Pike Furnace in Clarion County, March 26, 1847, his home being in this county until 28 years ago when he went to Pinoak to manage the fruit farm of J. J. Fisher. He was a man of notable industry, a splendid citizen, member of Grace M.E. Church, Oil City, and of Alpine Tent, Knights of the Maccabees, of Seneca, Pa. His wife died seven years ago leaving the following children, all of whom survive the father: William Anderson, Franklin, Pa.; James Anderson, Los Angeles, Cal.; Ralph Anderson, Oil City; Cyrus Anderson, Miss Margaret Anderson, and Mrs. Mary Griffith, all making their home with their father. He also leaves these brothers and sisters: John Anderson, Cygnet, 0.; James Anderson, Warren, 0.; Grant Anderson, Link, Cal.; William Anderson, Rimersburg, Pa.; Mrs. William Houston, Vandergrift, Pa.; Robert Anderson, Missoula, Mont.; Mrs. Maria Prather [Pritner], Curllsville.
