Earl Leslie Ward, age 83, of Little Rock, AR formally of Danville, AR, died Wednesday, April 9, 1997 at St. Vincents Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock. He was a native of Yell County, a retired farmer, and self employed truck driver. He was the son of the late Sid and Tennie Duke Ward.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Cordelia Ward and a grandson, Robert Leslie Ward.

Survivors include his wife, Mammie Pruitt Ward; two sons, Robert Ward of Danville and Carlos Ward of Russellville; seven step children, Ila Brents of Morrilton, Elva Matejek of Texas, Janelle Johnson, Florida, Wanda Willix, Jimmy Overton and Anthony Oveton of Little Rock and David Overton of Russellville; three brothers, Herman and Norman Ward both of Danville and Odell Ward of Ft. Smith; two sisters, Bernice Dennis and Eudell Stanberry both of Danville; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; 17 step grandchildren; 21 step great-grandchildren and a step great-great-grandson.

Funeral service was Saturday at the Cornwell Chapel by the Rev. John McElroy. Burial was in the Chalybeate Springs Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville.
