Kingwood, W. Va., March 27--Survived by one brother who is now a 90-year-old resident of Salida, Colo., Thomas Marion Boon, 76, the youngest child in a family of 13, died at this Main street home here shortly after noon today with a complication of diseases.

Mr. Boon was a direct descendant of Daniel Boone of Pioneer fame, as has been traced by daughters. Mr. Boon was born in Fredricksburg, Ohio, November 10, 1854, the son of the late James and Tamor Truesdale Boon. When but a small child, he moved westward with his father, living for several years in Missouri and later going farther west to locate in Colorado. Of the large family, only Hugh C. Boon, of Colorado, mentioned above, is now living. He was a Civil War veteran and today, despite his advanced age, is quite active.

After living for several years in the western state, Mr. Boon came east and finally settled in West Virginia, making Kingwood his home for the past 40 years. He was a staunch member of the Methodist Episcopal church and during his active years, took part in all of the branches of the church work. He was a member of the I. O. O. F. and a former member of the Knights of Pythias.

During the years he was in his prime, he worked in and around Kingwood at the stone mason trade, from which he retired less than 10 years ago. Last October 15, Mr. and Mrs. Boon, the latter now living, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, and the termination of 50 years of happy married life.

He is survived by his widow, four sons, Harry E., Glenn J., Paul A. all of Morgantown, and George M. of Baltimore; two daughters, Mrs. Walter Buseman of Morgantown, and Mrs. Dolph C. Williams of Kingwood. Fourteen grandchildren survive, namely Mary Katherine, Fred, Elaine, Mable Katherine, Billy, Betty, Hugh C., Max, James and Katherine Boon, Jr. all of Morgantown and George M. Jr., Margaret Ann of Baltimore, as well as Mrs. George Dent and Mable Louise Williams of Kingwood also survive, along with one brother, Hugh Boon of Salida.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon with short services at the home followed by services at the Methodist Episcopal church at 2 o'clock with Rev. T. E. Maness officiating. Interment will be in Maplewood cemetery. --The Salida Mail (Salida, CO) April 3, 1931
