James M. Harris Dimondale A kind and loving man died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the age of 80. Mr. Harris was born August 3, 1931 in Detroit, was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of the V.F.W., St. Stephen Lutheran Church and was an active member of the German Liederkranz Club. He loved family, camping, fishing, gardening and woodworking. Surviving are his wife, Frieda; children, James B. (Karen) Harris of Macomb County, and their children, Michael and Sara; Jennifer Harris-Read of Texas and her children, Jack, Henry and Olivia; Pamella Pilant of Dimondale and her daughter, Katrinia; three brothers, Robert (Rosemary) Harris, Ron (Glenda) Harris and Bill (Lenore) Harris; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. Services 11 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2012, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Lansing, with Pastor Gary A. Bunge officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Field & Leik Funeral Home, Dimondale. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Lansing.
