Professional Hockey Player. For four seasons (1973 to 1977), he played at the left-wing position in the National Hockey League with the California Golden Seals and St. Louis Blues. He began his more-than decade association with the sport in 1970, with the Winnipeg Jets of the Western Canada Hockey League. He yielded two 30-plus goals years in the minors, prior to marking his NHL debut with California during the 1973-1974 season. Hrechkosy made an impression in the league during the 1974-1975 season, as he compiled 29 goals with 14 assists in 73 games and finished runner-up to Eric Vail of the Atlanta Flames for the Calder Cup recipient. He was acquired by St. Louis during the 1976-1977 season and recorded 12 goals with 8 assists splitting playing time with the Seals and Blues. In 140 NHL games, he produced 42 goals with 24 assists. Following his hockey career, he settled in the Salt Lake City-area and worked with the Coca-Cola company. He died after battling brain cancer.
