Virginia Ruth "Carrico" Cruikshank 76 of Ravenna passed away Friday April 29, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born May 1, 1934 in Irona, WVA to the late George W. and Cardonia Pearl (Nine) Carrico. She has lived in Ravenna since 1951 and was formerly of WVA.
She loved to sew and secretly did charity work, was very kind hearted and was truthful and generous to a fault. She is survived by her husband Joe Cruikshank whom she married February 3, 1950, daughters Linda Lee (Tom) Huston of Kent, Norma (Jack) Cruikshank-Haller of Akron, grandchildren Victoria, Vincent, Veronica, six great-grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and sister Grace Kinsey of Mississippi. In addition to her parents , she was preceded in death by her brothers Robert, Luther, Bernard, Kenneth and sisters Geraldine Phillips and Marquerite Corly. Calling hours will be 2-4 PM Sunday May 1, 2011 at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday May 2, 2011 with Rev. Bill Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery Ravenna,Ohio.
