Indian Campaigns Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army in Company A, 4th U.S. Cavalry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on November 3, 1874 at Staked Plains, Texas. His citation reads "Gallant manner in which he faced a desperate Indian." (bio by: Don Morfe)
