Lucy Rose (Yates) Hollie, age 76, beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away June 5, 1994 at Rocky Mountain Health Center, of illness incident to age.

She was born Jan. 26, 1917 in Lake Point, Tooele County, Utah, the youngest of seven children, to Nellie Gerrard Yates and Joseph Yates, Jr. She is survived by her brother, Harvey E. Yates and his wife, Edna Yates, of Bountiful, Utah.

Lucy married J. Theo Hollie, June 17, 1949 in Mesquite, Clark County, Nevada. The marriage was later solemnized June 18, 1952 in the St. George Temple. Her husband preceded her in death May 13, 1965.

Lucy had three stepchildren, Ted Hollie of Japan; Joy Owens, of Show Low, Arizona; and June Taylor, of New Mexico.

She will be missed by their families, who called her Grandma Lucy.

Lucy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all her life, serving in many capacities: as secretary of the Sunday School, special interest group leader, supervisor of visiting teachers and a member of both the Relief Society and Sunday School choirs of the wards she attended. She had a love of music and painting all her life.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, James Yates, Nephi Yates and George Yates, and two sisters, Lillian Whitaker and Daisy Hayes.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 9, 1994, 11 a.m. in the Kimball Mill Ward, 659 South 200 East, Bountiful. Friends may call at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services.

Interment -Bountiful City Cemetery.
