He was born in Oakville and attended Oakville and Cowan schools. For many years, until his retirement in 1965, Mr. Metzker was employed in the chemistry laboratory of the foundry at Perfect Circle Corp. in New Castle.
Mr. Metzker maintained an avid interest in music and was a pianist and a saxophonist. He also enjoyed doing woodworking and wood finishing in his home. He was a member of Oakville Brethren Church.
Survivors include his wife, Harriette Gault Metzker; and four cousins, Ruth Mosier, Oakville, Frances Acker, Muncie, Grace Masters, Los Angeles, and Grace Dwiggins, McAllen, Texas.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Meeks Mortuary. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Mausoleum. Calling hours are Wednesday from 2 p.m. until service time at the mortuary.
