Professional Hockey Player. A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Johnson played the position of Defense for teams in the NHL, AHA, CHL, USHL, and the AAHL Hockey Leagues. At 5'10", and 165lbs, Johnson played for the Minneapolis Millers from 1931 to 1934, 1945 to 1947, St. Paul Saints from 1934 to 1942, 1951 to 1952, Chicago Blackhawks from 1937 to 1938, 1943 to 1945, Cleveland Barons from 1944 to 1945, and the Minneapolis Jerseys from 1949 to 1951. He also coached the St. Paul Saints from 1938 to 1939 as there Head Coach. He retired from hockey in 1952, and was inducted into the United States Hall of Fame as a Player in 1974. He passed away in September 1993, in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, from a stroke, at the age of 81.
