Betty was the fourth child of five children born to George Goodrick (bap. 10 Sep 1727 at Terrington, Yorkshire, England) and Ann Stoper (d. 18 May 1795 at Terrington, Yorkshire, England). Betty was baptized on 17 Apr 1767 in Terrington, Yorkshire, England. She married William Blenkarn (son of Thomas Blenkarn and Mary Beal) at All Saints Church in Terrington on 1 Mar 1791. They had five children:
