Mary Ann, age thirty nine years, wife of Angus Hugh McDonell died ten days following the birth of their son John Joseph. She leaves to mourn her husband, six sons, Daniel Angus, James Augustus, William Duncan, Alexander Angus, Hugh Angus,John Joseph and her only daughter, Emaline Katherine. Her children range in age from ten days to sixteen years. In addition, she leaves her mother Emily McPhail, brothers James and Alexander and his wife Mary Jane Harrison McPhail, all of St. Andrews West as well as her mother in law Katherine McDonell of Seymour, Wisconsin and nine sister and brother in laws in the United States. She was predeceased by her father, Donald McPhail Jr. and a son Duncan John McDonell.
Mary Ann was born and grew up in St. Andrews West, near Cornwall and married Angus Hugh McDonell in St. Andrews Catholic Church, St. Andrews West, Ontario on 17 Oct. 1871.
She resided from that time until her death with her husband and family on a farm near Martintown, Ontario (P.O., Apple Hill)
