Albertine Louise Dorsey was born May 28, 1926 in Englewood, Colorado and passed away August 31, 2011 in Fort Collins, Colorado following a lengthy illness. Louise was the fifth of six daughters born to Asa and Elberta Johnson. She spent most of her childhood in Seibert and graduated from Seibert High School.

Louise married the love of her life, Azel Dorsey on June 10, 1945 in Goodland, Kansas. She and Azel made Flagler their home and had four children, all born at the Flagler Hospital and graduating from FHS where Azel taught for many years. Louise helped out with the school lunch program and gave private piano and accordion lessons.

After the death of her husband in 1977, Louise continued to live in Flagler for some time and was the coordinator of the Flagler RSVP program which she so enjoyed. In 1984 she sold the Flagler home she loved so much and in turn lived in Grand Junction, Fort Collins, and Loveland to be an integral part of the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her passion was music, and with her accordion she entertained at numerous Kit Carson County occasions and events, often being accompanied by her husband Azel playing the banjo and her father Asa "rattling the bones". Bones are a unique type of percussion instrument made of ebony wood. Besides being a past president of the FHS Band Parents, she also organized and was the leader of the Flagler RSVP band for several years, was the accompanist of the Harmonettes and formed the Jakettes of Oakbrook II in Fort Collins. She loved performing and enjoyed square dancing and polka dancing with various groups and organizations. Over the course of two summers Louise traveled the USA with the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps where she helped with costumes, souvenirs and the feeding of 128 young musicians including a grand-daughter.

Louise could not pass up a parade, a concert, or a pretty rock, and oh how she loved to visit; a stranger would become a friend within a few minutes; and she never missed an opportunity to tell someone that she was from Flagler. During her lengthy illness, she expressed a great desire to visit Flagler and Seibert which she was able to do on two occasions in the last year.

Louise's family was always at the center of her life. She was blessed to have spent most of her last year in the care of her daughters, Cheryl and Laura and their families where she enjoyed helping watch over her great-grand babies, Reese and Ava Rogich.

She is survived by sisters, Tena Simmons of Molalla, OR, Faye Savage of Vista, CA, and Dorothy Cummings of San Diego, CA; children, Eugene Azel (Rosie) of Tijeras, NM; Cheryl Ann Cronkhite (Allen)of Loveland; Charles Arthur (Jane) of Bow Mar, CO; Laura Louise Hiltner (Geno)of Greeley; grandchildren, Heidi Young-Perrine (Mike) Sadie, Dillon, Dustin, and Sophie; Casey O'Donnell (Colin), Brandon and Oisin; Korina Brim Travis and Austin; Malynda Young(David), Jared and Samantha, Aundrea Rogich(Steve) Reese and Ava; Jerimy Hiltner (Megan) Henry; and Matt Hiltner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Azel Dorsey; her parents, Asa and Bertie Johnson; and sisters, Anna Johnston and Evelyn Smith.
