Mary Jane was the first daughter and second child of ten children born to William Blakey Jr. and Ellen Fox. She never married. She was in the Coxwold Church Choir for over 60 years. She is buried as near to the church door as it was possible to place her grave, and is not with other members of the family in the churchyard.
