Salvador "Sal" A. Abad passed away on December 11 in San Francisco at age 87. A native of Manila, Philippines; Sal enlisted in the 26th
Calvary (Philippine Scouts) on February 3, 1941. He survived combat, the Bataan Death March and incarceration as a POW. He was an active
member of the Philippine Scouts Heritage Society and the American Legion's Ex-POW Luziminda Chapter in San Francisco. Sal was survived by his wife Gloria, four sons and several grandchildren.
