William was born in Chicago, Illinois to Robert & Ida. He is the second of 4 children they had before Ida passed away.

In addition, he has one stepbrother Robert JR. that his father had with his 2nd wife Delia. Along with the 7 stepsiblings that Delia had from her first marriage ( she too was a widower ).

In 1928 he met Lillian in NYC they married and eventually ended up in sunny California and had 2 children together.

While living in California William was killed at age 33 in a tragic auto accident. Both boys were only a few years old at this time.
