He was born in Hong Kong. His grandfather, Chau Duck Tai was a famous Kung-fu master known for his skills with the “Chau family staff”. He followed his grandfather ‘s footsteps to learn to use the staff. He also excelled in the more difficult internal power martial art form called chi-gong. He also did Chinese painting, calligraphy and the violin. He met his wife at the Chinese school where they were both teachers.
