Mrs. J. McCormick Dies In Sleep
Mrs. Ethel May McCormick passed away peacefully in her sleep at her Spring Mountain home Tuesday night. In good health the day before, she had talked of a forthcoming trip she planned to make with members of her family, to towns in the Pacific Northwest where she had lived.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock, in the Hans Jensen Memorial Chapel here. Interment will be in the family plot in Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, San Francisco.
Mrs. McCormick is survived by her husband, John McCormick, prominent Spring Mountain rancher, two daughters, Mrs. Ina McCormick Hart, and Mrs. Edna May Learned, her sons-in-law William Hart and Edwin H. Learned, a granddaughter, Sandra Dianne Learned, all of St. Helena, a brother, Edgar Roseberry, and a sister, Mrs. Effie May Graham, both residing in San Francisco. Another brother, William Rosenberry, preceded her in death.
Mrs. McCormick was born June 27, 1879, in Neosho, Missouri, the daughter of Robert Bruce Roseberry and Ellin Wallace Roseberry. The family came west, first to Idaho, then to Oregon, and later to San Francisco, where she completed her education. Following that she was employed as a bookkeeper with the Nathan-Dorhmann Company. The family home on Vermont street was the setting for her marriage to John McCormick on November 11, 1911.
They came immediately to the ranch home atop Spring Mountain, later returning to a home on Spring street while their daughters attended school.
